What is the program?
Students from UH may spend a semester or a year studying economics and business at Nihon University in Tokyo, Japan. Nihon University is Japan's largest university. Exchange students, who come from Asia, Europe, and the US, take economics, business, and other courses focusing on the Japanese economy. All instruction is in English. Japanese language instruction is available at a nominal cost.

How does it work?
UH students take courses at Nihon University and earn credit towards their UH diploma (while Nihon University students do the same at UH).

Where will I live?
All exchange students live in a dormitory that includes a meal plan (breakfast and dinner daily).

How much does it cost?
UH students pay their regular UH tuition, along with paying for books, student fees, travel, and living expenses not covered by financial aid.

Is financial aid available?
Yes. Dormitory costs, including breakfast and dinner, are covered by Nihon University. Students must pay a small fee for their dormitory.

Who can apply?
Students with a background in economics and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference is given to students majoring in economics.

How do I apply?
Complete and submit an application form. You can download a PDF version of it or pick one up from the Economics Department Office, Saunders Hall, Rm. 542).

What is the deadline for applications?
You must apply by March 15 to be considered for the following academic year.
