Internships for Economics (Econ 390) & Economics Cooperative Education (Econ 391)

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Economics 390 or Economics 391 is the course for you.

Econ 390 and 391 provide excellent opportunities to obtain on the job experience while applying the skills and knowldege you develop in your Economics classes. Visit the Center for Career Development and Student Employment to browse through the list of currently available Internships and Co-Ops. Keep in mind that Economics majors are often selected by employers advertising for business or finance majors. Our students have held a wide variety of intern positions at the State Legislature, for Merill Lynch, Bank of Hawaii, the State Department of Business Economc Development & Tourism, and many others.

These courses are intended for Economics majors and minors seeking practical experience using their Economics training. The focus of Economics 390 is short-term (1 semester) practical experience. Economics 391 requires a 2 semester commitment and provides more supervision. Both courses require two short papers and Econ 391 requires an oral presentation. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to enroll in Econ 391.
