Introducing Our New Faculty
Hui He was born and grew up in Hubei Province, China. He earned his BA and MA in Economics from Peking University and is expecting to receive his PhD in Economics from the University of Minnesota in June 2006.
Hui is a macroeconomist with a special interest in quantitative macroeconomics. His research focuses on understanding the driving forces behind the wage inequality and skill accumulation in the postwar U.S. economy. He also has research interests in household portfolio choice over the life cycle and the effects of public pension systems on individuals' retirement decision.
Hui is very excited to move from the North Country to a tropical paradise. He looks forward to teaching and doing meaningful research with the students and faculty members at UH. In his leisure time, Hui enjoys playing tennis and hiking. He plans to learn surfing in the near future.
