The Hung Family Endowed Fellowships for Graduate Study on Chinese Economic Policy and Chinese Intellectual History
The Hung Family Endowment is made in recognition of the inseparable relationship of Chinese civilization to world history and international economy. The Departments of Economics and History are honored with the trust to provide such education with a global and international perspective.
The fellowship carries a stipend of $14,500 per academic year, plus a tuition waiver. Generally, he fellowship is renewable once for Master's degree students and three times for a Ph.D. Applications are welcomed from Chinese or Taiwanese students who meet the entrance requirements for graduate study in Economics or History at the University of Hawai'i, and possess a sustained and superior record of scholastic achievement.
To apply for the Hung Family Endowment, a student must submit:
- a cover letter stating intent to apply.
- a 500-word essay, in English, on "Why Chinese Intellectual History" or "Why Chinese Economic Policy."
Entering students as well as currently enrolleed students are encouraged to apply.
